Our Story
Peak One Counseling opened its doors in 2023 and is the culmination of decades of learning and development. The owner and founder, Wendy Miller, desires to create a space where each person entering the doors– both client and team member–will encounter a compassionate and supportive environment in which to heal and grow.
The name, Peak One Counseling, is inspired by a mountain that comes into view upon one’s arrival in Summit County, Colorado. At first glance, Peak One seems unremarkable, but after a few more twists and turns, a stunning vista opens up, unveiling an anchoring presence and extending a heartfelt greeting to those venturing into the mountains.

Mountains, with their imposing stature and rugged terrain, represent both obstacles and profound beauty. They stand as formidable barriers that challenge the endurance and determination of those who seek to conquer them. Yet, it is only by navigating the mountain's challenges that its' profound and authentic beauty is unveiled. Mountains teach us that the journey itself is integral to uncovering the beauty within ourselves, our relationships, and in the world around us.

Wendy Miller, MA, LPC-S
Wendy brings over 20 years of counseling experience, including managing a large private practice in Dallas, Texas. Before counseling, she worked in Christian ministry with teenagers and families in Dallas. She co-founded Sparrow House Counseling, spending 13 years there before starting Peak One Counseling in 2023. Her goal at Peak One is to provide focused attention and expertise to individuals on their healing journey.
